Price includes

All accommodations, meals from breakfast on day 2 through dinner on day 7. Day 8 only breakfast included, picnic lunches, group transfers from and to the airport, all transportations throughout the trip, luggage transportations, services of the tour leader - guide, all taxes and VAT.

Not included

Air fare to and from Santorini, personal travel-health insurance, alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, personal expenses, entrance fees in Museums, and other sites of interest that are not included in the program.

Santorini 8 days Family Adventures

1st day: Arrival in Santorini.

We settle into our hotel in Perissa in the south-west of the island.There by the sea we have the oppurtunity for our first swim.

2nd day: Akrotiri

Transfer to the southern end of the island.Beyond the lighthouse of Santorini ,that was built in 1892, we walk passed small chapels to the beautiful village of Akrotiri and to the beach with the red sand.Take advantage of it by enjoying a swim! What a glorious view toward the caldera and the high slopes with the stunning combination of colours!Overnight in Perissa

3rd day: Profitis Ilias

We start our walk from Perissa toward ancient Thira and we carry on uphill toward the monastery of Profitis Ilias ( at the highest point of Santorini ) ,from where we can see the whole island.A calderimi ( stone paved path ) leads us down to the fortified village of Pyrgos:in the north a square tower reminds us of the ottoman period.We continue through vineyards until we reach the medieval small streets of the picturesque village of Emporio.Overnight in Perissa.

4th day: Up to the volcano's crater

An unforgettable day between sea and volcano.We cruise in the heart of the caldera,then stroll up to the volcano's crater and we complete our visit on the Kameni island with a swim in the hot springs.
We discover the island and the villages of Thirassia: incredible view towards the orange-red coloured slopes of the crater right opposite.Overnight back in Perissa

5th day: Fira-Oia

Transfer to Fira the capital of the island.We walk along the caldera to the village of Oia overlooking the sea.A magnificent panorama: white and blue houses on the edge of the caldera,traditional architecture,cafes and a variety of little shops.We descend to the beach for a swim and then we take the bus back to Perissa.

6th day: Messavouno-Kamari

Today we leave the hotel towards the ancient Thira that was founded by the Dorians in the 9th century b.C and later on it was occupied by the descendants of Alexander the Great.We visit the archeological site on the top of the mountain Messavouno ( 369m ) and we descend to the village of Kamari and from there we continue by boat to Perissa.

7th day: Sea kayaking

Breakfast at the hotel and then first introduction to the basic lessons in sea kayaking.
We spend about 1 hour for the introduction and the basic lessons in orientation and swimming and after we paddle to the most untouched places of the south-west part of the island. We have a break and later in the afternoon we come back to Perissa where we will spend our last night in the island.

TRIP DETAILS

Insurance: Participants should be covered by their own personal travel-health insurance and prior to the trip. The personal insurance must at least cover medical expenses as well as air rescue and the cost of repatriation.

Alpine Travel is not responsible for any accidents or mishaps directly or indirectly related to the tour.

Period: From April to October 2017.

Transportation: All transfers during the trip are included.

Accommodation: Hotels in the cities, village pensions throughout the trip (all with private facilities).

Food: Every morning we have breakfast in the hotels, picnic lunch en route and a dinner at local tavern. (Vegetarians are welcome on the trips)
